The Martinez Family

These are Enrique and Gabriella Martinez.

'So what do you think?' Gabriella had left it to her brother to look for a new house since she trusted him to find a good place.
'I knew that I could rely on you, this is really good for the money we had. You're the best as always.'
Enrique and Gabriella were very fond of each other. Many siblings turn into very different personalities but they were one of a kind. They had a rather strict moral upbringing but it had the opposite effect of what their parents intended. From the time they were teenagers nothing had given them more fun than to break the rules. Enrique was a year and a half older than his sister and he had often covered for her when she wanted to go out.
Although he always watched her dates and made sure no guy ever dared to treat his sister badly he was proud about the attention she received. He knew that she liked herself a little bit too much, but apart from that she was nice and kind and he thought that she had turned into a gorgeous looking woman.

Enrique was a pleasant sight himself (and he knew it as well as his sister). The fact that he had done well in school was surprising, because even then he had so many dates that no-one could understand how he could still find time for learning.
Enrique liked women. He could often see something in a woman even when she wasn't thought to be attractive. And maybe he was bringing it out in them too, because as a result of going out with him, some of the girls had become a lot more popular and not one of them was thinking about him with bad feelings, although most of them knew very well that he was not faithful.

It was Gabriella though who found romance first. Kennedy was a guy from town and initially Gabriella only found him a bit cuter than the others she had met so far. But seeing more of him her feelings became more serious.

The day after they slept with each other for the first time, she was thinking about him a lot, much more than she was used to with other men she met before.

The first woman Enrique got closer to was Nina Caliente. The neighbourhood was split amongst sims who had gained from new families moving in and those who had been pushed aside. At first Nina regretted the changes that came along with the newcomers. Don Lothario had left after his break-up with Cassandra and she did not really make new friends.
Enrique always sensed what a woman needed and he felt that Nina was a bit lonely and looking for some love in her life.

Enrique was also good in giving women what they missed and before long he and Nina were making love for the first time.

Enrique was not the man to be with one woman alone though. He thought that one day he might find a woman that was so special to him that he wanted to be with her only, but until then he wanted to know what it was like to be with others.
He had found a job in politics. Enrique was not overly political but concerned about the world around him and he did his job well. There were many women working in his department and he soon became popular with them.

Maybe not at first. Some women, like Robin Stompel who came back from work with him one day, were determined not to fall for the charm of Enrique. Since he made most women swallow and take a second look when they came across him it was almost annoying to feel the same, at least to some.

Usually they discovered that Enrique although a womanizer happened to be a really nice and friendly guy. He never pressed them to anything and waited until they made their own choice. Often this was what changed their mind about him.
Soon Robin was a lot fonder of Enrique than she had been in the beginning.

Gabriella did not really intend to start a serious relationship with Kennedy, but then after work she often felt the need to see him and he visited her regularly. It was really nice to relax in the whirlpool in the evenings and some sort of arrangement developed between her and her brother (who brought some woman back home almost every day).

While Gabriella was leading an unintentional monogamous life, Enrique slowly started to get involved with most of his female colleagues. Mary Sue Pleasant was already a bit older and had two teenage daughters. He soon found out that she was unhappy about her marriage although he always remained a bit unsure what exactly went through her mind.
Mary Sue with her tiny puppet face looked strange to him rather than beautiful, but here his capacity to discover something attractive in most women set in. In fact after starting an affair with Enrique, Mary-Sue began to bloom and looked much better than before.

With his sister he could talk openly about such issues. Gabriella was a bit worried that eventually the women at work (she was working there as well, actually being a lot more interested in politics than her brother) would find out that he was two-, three-..timing and maybe they would not take it as lightly as his teenage friends had done.
Enrique was cautious though. He never made any romantic moves at work - he thought that it was inappropriate - and most of what happened in his (and her) love life remained within the walls of their home.

When he was at home Enrique saw no reason not to get involved with his colleagues. Robin came over one evening after she had worked late. They had become friends by now and Robin was developing serious feelings for him.

She joined him in the pool and when they started to kiss she did not want to resist Enrique any longer.

First she had been worried, but lately Gabriella was wondering whether the girls at work where actually passing on information about Enrique. He came home with one of them every other afternoon.
Some, like Diane Tsirkunov, got a crush on him almost immediately.

Others were more like Robin and even disliked him in the beginning. Kaylynn did not think much of Enrique when she started to clean in the Martinez household and did not respond much when he began chatting with her. After her affair with Don, she had fallen in love with Daniel Pleasant and was still hoping that their relationship would become more than an affair although Daniel had distanced himself from her lately.
Then she was at work in the Pleasant household one day and the way she found them in the bedroom it was obvious what happened between him and Mary-Sue. Despite her own affair with Daniel she did not approve of cheating but in this case it made her see Enrique in a different way. Mary-Sue had looked very happy (until she spotted Kaylynn) and she had to admit that Enrique was quite a good looking guy.

Gabriella and Enrique did not often have the chance to just sit together have a coffee and chat because they were rarely on their own in the evenings. On one of those rare occasions Enrique told Gabriella what had happened between him and Mary-Sue at the Pleasant house. He had promised Mary-Sue not to talk about it, but he would have never included Gabriella in such a promise.
Gabriella could hardly believe what she heard. 'You were trying to make Mary Sue a baby?!'
Enrique smiled. 'I didn't know what to say when she asked me. I do not want a family - with your exception of course - but the child will have one. Because I didn't only try, Mary-Sue is pregnant.'
He then stopped for a moment. 'You know, it's not a bad thing', he said, because Gabriella was looking grave and thoughtful. 'I might not want a family, but to think that there will be a little guy or a little girl that is a part of me, is not that bad.'
This was actually what Gabriella was thinking about. Would he not miss his child eventually?

Soon after Mary-Sue gave birth to a baby boy who was named David and carried Pleasant as a surname.

Even if Mary-Sue had made it a condition that David should grow up as the son of Daniel, she tried to give Enrique the chance to be with him. They were working together and Daniel did not get suspicious about one of her friends from work visiting.
Since he also would have never expected his wife to have an affair, the affection David showed towards Enrique did not make him wonder either. The little toddler had asked for Enrique's attention immediately and when he picked him up he felt such a love for his son that he did not let go of him for the rest of the evening.

They were close immediately and Enrique just had to hug and cuddle him the whole time.

When David turned into a school child he often visited his father on the weekends. Enrique enjoyed those visits a lot, and he had as much fun as his son when they played together. David did not exactly know that he was not Daniel's child, however, as time progressed he slowly gathered that his relationship with Enrique was special. His mother never appeared surprised or concerned that he had an adult friend that invited him and actually encouraged those visits. By Enrique he was treated so much like a son that it was telling enough and although Lilith had never said anything to him, he could see in her reaction towards certain questions he asked, that she did know something she didn't want to tell him. He liked Daniel very much and still he felt uncomfortable when he saw him and Mary-Sue showing affection to each other.

Being at Enrique's place was always a lot of fun and David liked those weekends.

Gabriella often did extra work on the weekend, but when she was finished she rushed home hoping that David had not left yet. They both liked children and Gabriella was by now quite happy about the fact that she had a nephew.
David liked her too, although he found it hard to speak to her in the beginning. He admired her and thought that she was the most beautiful woman in the world.

It had taken Gabriella a long time before she met another man apart from Kennedy that interested her but now she was slowly getting closer to Benjamin Long, a sim she had met walking past the house one day. Later she found out that he was in politics too and actually worked in her department.

After meeting a few times, Benjamin became quite fond of Gabriella. She liked him but thought that he looked a bit worn. When she started to see him more often she found it made him attractive and a romance developed between them.

Both members of the Martinez family were honest insofar, as they would never commit themselves to anyone and then cheat behind their backs. They did not talk about their affairs, but whoever got involved with them could guess that they were most likely seeing others too.
They were also honest in their feelings and Gabriella did not stop seeing Kennedy after she got closer to Benjamin. It was neither a strong physical attraction nor a likeness of character and still Kennedy remained special to her.

Enrique continued his approaches on his work mates. Diane was an attractive woman even if she could not stand up to his sister, who was close to perfection in his opinion. He adored his sister and loved her dearly. They had been very close since they were small and had remained so throughout the years.

After meeting Diane a couple of times she had fallen in love with him. Looking at her, Enrique wished that he would not have to see her in her office outfit so often. It was hiding her shapes, which really was a pity. She was indeed a very good looking woman.

Nevertheless their love was unusual. Diane had started seeing Darren Dreamer and a relationship was about to develop until he resurrected his wife and he would have probably been more suitable for her than Enrique. She was serious and shy and more interested in knowledge than in having fun or being with others.
While he was kissing her he wondered how different it was to make love with each of the women he had met. Due to her shyness he felt the need to always treat her very gentle. They were sitting on the bed for a long time until he slowly started to take her clothes off.

Then he kissed her lightly on the neck, while his hands wandered gently over her body. 'Oh yes, please don't stop', Diane whispered and Enrique obliged.

Afterwards they slept for one or two hours and then noticed that they were both hungry. Downstairs they found another woman from the neighbourhood called Marylena Hamilton, who Gabriella had met that day and invited in. Under different circumstances Enrique definitely would have had an interest in her. Marylena had the most amazing blue eyes he had ever seen.

This evening though, the experience with Diane had touched him more than he expected. She was very different from him, but he felt more tenderness towards her than others. He never had bad feelings towards a woman after he had woohoo'd with her (or because of it), but being with Diane had been special. He was sad that she didn't stay overnight and left around two in the morning.

He did not have much time to think about Diane because soon afterwards he met another woman when he went out to have a look at Bluewater one afternoon. As much as Enrique could find something to love in any woman, there weren't many who immediately attracted him, where he felt the kind of magnetism that pulled him towards Sina Brusset. Her initial reservation quickly ceased and a few hours later they had already become friends or even more than that.

He did not leave the club until the early morning. Someone had served breakfast and they sat down together with some others and helped themselves to some cereal. The other night with Diane he had been full of tender thoughts for her and had liked her for being different. With Sina he felt a similarity of character which he did not encounter often. She was clever and witty and he enjoyed talking to her.

Kaylynn's opinion about Enrique had changed a lot by then. Instead of Daniel breaking up, he had gotten closer to his wife since Mary-Sue's affair and when Kaylynn had watched him kissing her fondly one morning she had not been able to control her temper and started to fight with him. She did not even bother what Mary-Sue was thinking about the scene. Kaylynn shared a secret with her too and they had come to a silent agreement to keep their mouths shut.
Anyway, afterwards she was in a rage about Daniel for a long time and more susceptible for the charms of other men. Enrique and his sister never treated her like a servant and when he was at home while she was cleaning the house he often stopped her to chat for a bit. Before she knew him better, she had often snapped at his compliments or simply turned round to continue with her work and still he had remained open and friendly towards her. Kaylynn really liked him now.

Before they became friends he had basically paid her for spending time with him, because it was during her work when she was paid for the hour. She did not like that anymore and when he was at home again one day and she was finished cleaning the house, she asked him if he would mind if she stayed around for a bit longer.
Enrique had liked Kaylynn from the beginning and he had often wondered what she looked like when she wasn't wearing her uniform (although it was not exactly hiding much).

They spent some hours in the whirl pool and then Enrique returned into the house to prepare dinner. Kaylynn realised that she did only know Enrique in the morning and when she was working he had usually been busy with other things too. When she was watching him now under different circumstances she fell in love with him. Gabriella was home from work by now and one look into Kaylynn's face told her how Kaylynn felt about her brother.
'And another one', she said to herself, but then she was wondering whether Enrique had really thought this through. Kaylynn was in their house every day, but this was not what worried her most. She felt that Kaylynn was a very delicate woman and that she was really looking for someone who loved her (and her alone). Enrique would have to be careful not to hurt her.

If she had wanted it, Gabriella could have had as many affairs as her brother, unfortunately the men she was most attracted to where already married or in a relationship with somebody else and most of these women were her friends. She would have never caused them trouble. One night when she was out with Andrew Gardener and James Simmon, she had nearly lost James as her friend only because she had flirted (playfully) with both of them. James had ended the outing very abruptly, reminding her that he was married as well as Andrew. She learned her lesson and never tried anything like this again.
Benjamin on the other hand was single and she kept seeing him.

They had met in a downtown clothes shop one day and he had surprised her with his passionate approach that afternoon.

Benjamin had liked Gabriella but it was this afternoon he fell in love with her. With her youthful and kind character and her warm smile it was hard not to love her.

When she invited him over a week later he stayed for the night.

Being friends with Darren Dreamer, she had met his wife Darleen who was brought back from being dead (something very exceptional that nevertheless was not talked about much) and they had become friends too. At their wedding party Darleen introduced her to her son Dirk who was in college now. Gabriella was not sure if she had ever met Dirk when he was a teenager, but she got on really well with him and after the wedding ceremony they spent most of the afternoon talking to each other.

Gabriella was still young (and like her brother remained so) and there was not a big age difference between her and Dirk. She could see though that for him adult life was still a very fresh experience and that he was longing to find out about the romantic part of it.

He began to come over often, much more than he visited his parents, and the idea that she might become his first lover appealed to Gabriella.

She had no intention to rush it, for the moment they had enough fun flirting with each other. Dirk didn't know if he was ready for a serious relationship and he liked that he did not have to make a commitment to Gabriella. However, with her he was going further than his friends at college who were having a girlfriend.

Dirk came over so often that Gabriella did see less of Kennedy. She was not sure if he was angry with her for it, because he was a bit more distanced lately and did not always want to stay for the night. It didn't do their relationship any harm because they were less romantic but talking to each other more during that period.
Enrique had invited Sina that night and they were all together in the whirl pool although Enrique and Sina did not really participate in the conversation, being much too involved with each other.

Enrique still thought of Diane, but was seeing Sina a lot too.

and she made it clear that she was attracted to him.

Between them everything was so easy and it was probably the most serious relationship he had ever been in. With Diane and with regard to Mary-Sue, in particular when he was over at her house one evening looking at his child sleeping, the idea of a steady relationship with one person had flicked through his mind, but never remained there for long. He was thinking more of it since he met Sina. They were very compatible with each other.

The sex with her was fantastic too.

It took a bit longer before their love became more serious, because they were both not the type for it.

But eventually it happened.

If Enrique and his sister did not age it was not the same for his son. David's childhood had passed quickly and he was about to become a teenager. Though he had learned never to touch the subject when Daniel was around, David was pretty sure by now that Enrique was his real father. He had continued asking Lilith questions until she had more or less admitted that it was true.
What David did not understand was why his mother was not with his real father and it did worry him sometimes when he went to sleep. At other times he did not mind that he had two fathers instead of just one.

His aunt Gabriella had visited the Pleasants a few times, because she was working with Mary-Sue and she had used those visits to get to know David better.

She was very fond of her nephew and wished they could have seen more of him during his childhood.

Kaylynn had stayed on after work and they all spent the afternoon together. He avoided any romance with her while his son was around however. Enrique was not ashamed of his life style, but while David was still a child he did not want to confront him with it since he was already a bit troubled by his special family situation.

Being with his son had shown Kaylynn a new side of Enrique which made him even more attractive to her. After her affair with Daniel she had promised herself that she would not sleep with a man until she knew that he was serious with her and be wary of romance sims in particular. She was lonely though and by now much in love with Enrique.

In the evening Dirk visited and while Kaylynn and Enrique were upstairs making love, he and Gabriella were dancing in the living room.

Dirk was slightly irritated when suddenly a woman in underwear appeared, who he didn't recognise as Kaylynn, their former maid, first. 'Oh, I didn't know you weren't alone', Kaylynn said, remembering now that Dirk had arrived earlier. Gabriella had become her confidante and despite being shy she felt the urge to talk about her lovemaking. It was the first time since she had been with Don Lothario and that was long ago.
Gabriella was a kind person and didn't resent Kaylynn for interrupting her when she was making out with Dirk for the first time.

Flirting with and kissing such a beautiful woman as Gabriella was not without effect on Dirk. He was quite in love with her and tried to come over as often as his studies allowed.

The Martinez Family pt. 2

Trying not to bring their love life to the public Gabriella and Enrique did not go on dates often. Gabriella was a bit worried that she could come across Kennedy, when Dirk asked her on a date, but she was also looking forward to go out. For some reason she had always been a bit attracted to Darren and Gabriella thought that Dirk looked even better than his father.

During their date it became clear that Dirk was thinking about woohooing with her and she was not surprised when he asked her if she would come back to the campus with him. She had never been to a college dormer before, but she did not have much chance to look around, because they went into Dirk's bedroom almost immediately. His excitement was cute and apart from that she still liked to be the first and it seemed the right moment to do it.

Before long they were kissing and making out, and Dirk's first woohoo did not look far away anymore.

Gabriella thought so and was ready and then the atmosphere changed. They were about to slip under the covers, when Dirk got up again and indicated her to do the same. Maybe his intention had only been to be able to take her clothes off, but there was an interruption and Gabriella felt that the magic of the moment had passed. She became aware how much she needed to go to the toilet and would have liked to take a shower too.
She told Dirk that the date had been great but that she needed to take off now. He was not taken aback by it too much, which indicated that he had noticed the change too.

The evening after that date Dirk met Emmy, who had moved into their dormer and his visits to Gabriella stopped.
Gabriella did not feel hurt, they still talked on the phone and remained friends, but for a while Kennedy became the only lover in her life again.

Meanwhile Enrique, after meeting Katie when he visited a student friend at the dormer, had soon become more acquainted to her when she graduated and moved into the neighbourhood. Katie was very fond of Aemon, who was not only a lover but also a friend, but she was not the type who would think it necessary to remain faithful because of it.
Enrique's reputation as a lover had reached the campus, but if anything that made him more attractive to Katie.

Katie had expected that his experience would make a difference and she was not disappointed.

Enrique also rekindled some of his older relationships, in particular the one with Mary-Sue. It was important to him that she remained a friend because of their child, but for a long time they had stopped having an affair, mainly because Mary-Sue's relationship with Daniel had improved a lot. It was one day when she came back to his house after work that they both ended up in bed with each other again.

It was already a while since David had grown into a teenager. Enrique had been invited to his birthday party and he was very proud of his son, who had turned out so well.

Eventually it was Gabriella's turn to meet someone new again. Lee was living downtown and Gabriella was just his type (Katie was just his type too, but Gabriella had soon realised that he was not much different from her brother when it came to flirting with women). Shortly after meeting for the first time they started an affair.

and after meeting a few more times Lee stayed for the night.

Gabriella was taking her job in politics seriously and had been promoted steadily. But for a long time she and her brother had been pondering about opening a club in Bluewater. It started when Enrique told her about Malcolm Landgraab's nightclub, which wasn't very good and they began to discuss what type of club they would like to see in the neighbourhood. There was a property which used to be a flower shop. It had a large garden and was perfect for what they had in mind. 'Flowers and More' became the perfect retreat for all the sims couples that wished to be alone for a night. It was a good place for a romantic date but if you just wanted to hang out with the neighbours for a while it offered everything you needed too.

The club shot up in the business ranking and was very popular. Owning it, it became even easier to meet new people.
Sierra Hourvitz made it quite clear that she was interested in Enrique when she came to the club one day. She was a judge and looked elegant and mature, but she was not shy when it came to showing that she was attracted to someone. They talked for a long time and soon Enrique invited her over to the house.

This would not really have been necessary, because the club also contained a bedroom if couples wanted some privacy. But often other women, who he had been sleeping with, were visiting and even if they all guessed that Enrique had many affairs, he was convinced that none of them would have liked it if he cheated right in front of them.

Spending a lot of time at the club made them aware how shabby their house looked. They had not really spent a lot on it since they moved in and by keeping all their bonus payments they had saved a large sum of money.
They kept most of the furniture, but every room was painted and a bathroom added on the second floor. The first floor was enlarged and much more spacious than before.

Through the club Gabriella met some new guys as well. Joe Carr was a serious and steady type and not very impressed with her in the beginning. He changed his mind when he understood that Gabriella, while a romance sim, was also clever and interesting to talk to.
Her appearance and her kind attitude often left political opponents unprepared when she was striking with full competence.

Enrique had met Marylena a few more times and he was about to begin an affair with her.

But while they had both hoped to have many love affairs when they moved to Pleasantview, now that it was easy they were slowly becoming weary of it.
One evening Gabriella invited Reed Haggerty over, another man who she had met at the club. They were flirting but when she kissed him, she noticed that she felt slightly repelled by him at the same time. She was beginning to wonder if this was all making sense.

Joe Carr was a nice guy and she was still seeing him. She could imagine that he could become a good friend, even if they stopped having an affair.

Joe's original opinion of Gabriella had changed very much and he really liked her. They made love in the whirl pool when he visited her and he could not stop looking at her afterwards, because she looked so tender and sweet.

Making love with Joe was good, but it was soon after that day when Gabriella was sitting in the front room that it suddenly occurred to her that she wanted a change in her life.
She didn't regret how she had lived in the past and the guys she had fallen in love with were still dear to her. But she had no interest in adding another lover at least not for the time being.

One reason for it was her relationship with Kennedy. Whoever else she was seeing at the time had never stopped her from seeing him as well. He had always been special for being her first lover, but over time another feeling had grown between them and it had been for a while now that Gabriella noticed that Kennedy looked at her differently. It was like he was trying to say: 'Whatever you do, I'll be there for you'. With him she had a feeling of real belonging and when he was over she could not really understand anymore why she was seeing other men, always feeling the most comfortable and happiest with him.

Then there was Enrique's recent experience in the Hippy Chicks clothes shop. They were both so discreet about their affairs that for a long time there had never been any complications from jealousy. Eventually though, with the amount of women Enrique was seeing it was unavoidable that sooner or later this had to change.
It was no other than Diane Tsirkunov who (unknowingly?) initiated the trouble, when she started flirting with Enrique while both Katie and Robin were in the shop. The fact that they both got upset about it, did not exactly make the situation any better. It proved to him what difference it made that until then they had only assumed that he was going out with different women at the same time, but had never observed it directly. Robin was next to him within a second, shouting and slapping him.

His head was still spinning when Katie followed Robin's example and slapped him in the face. The only person who seemed to be strangely detached from the situation was Diane and the expression she had on her face made Enrique wonder if she had really caused all this uproar unintentionally.
His suspicion increased when she acted very similar a short time later when both she and Mary-Sue were visiting. As a consequence Mary-Sue got as angry with him as Katie and Robin. Loosing three lovers and friends in quick succession dampened his enthusiasm for affairs and it affected Gabriella too.
There was a rumour that Diane had recently started a relationship with a student called William, yet her behaviour towards Enrique was confusing and he kept thinking that she tried to force him to make a choice. He probably wouldn't have hesitated if he hadn't foreseen complications with Kaylynn. Until now he had always made sure that Kaylynn would never encounter any of the other women he was seeing.

For Gabriella the decision was made when she invited Kennedy over one morning. After talking for some time they went upstairs and made love to each other. Both of them felt tired afterwards and they were sleeping when Enrique returned home from work.

Gabriella woke up because she could hear the phone ringing downstairs. Enrique answered it, but when he hung up she noticed that he was talking to someone else and recognised the voice of Benjamin Long. She asked herself what she should do, especially since there was a good chance that Kennedy would eventually go downstairs in his underwear and it would not be hard to guess for Benjamin what this was indicating.
She became aware that she could live with Benjamin getting upset upon finding out about her and Kennedy and that in her heart she had already chosen who she wanted to be with.

In the end nothing happened, but it didn't make a difference anymore.

The very evening she asked Kennedy to move in and he happily agreed. His love for Gabriella had grown steadily over time and while it had not bothered him too much in the beginning that she might be going out with other sims, the thought had become more and more unnerving. He had opted for patience and it turned out to be a good choice.
He held her very tight and gently caressed her back. Gabriella rested her head on his shoulder. She was still a bit afraid that it might not be in her nature to be with one guy exclusively and she was hoping so much that she would not end up hurting Kennedy.
